Anne qualified in dispensing optics in 2002, completing her course via college in London and exams at Glasgow Caledonian University whilst working in practice and gaining the practical experience.
Anne furthered her qualifications in 2018 completing her vision science degree, again by correspondence, allowing her to gain her honours degree and greater knowledge on many eye conditions.
Anne has worked alongside Lynn and Rachael in the local community throughout her career and enjoys chatting with all her local friends and customers that drop in regularly.
Lynn Maclaren BSc MCOptom DipTp(IP)
IP Optometrist Director
Lynn graduated with a first class honours degree in Optometry in 1989 from what is now known as Glasgow Caledonian University. She returned to her studies in 2018 to start her additional specialist qualification, completing in July 2020. Lynn can now independently prescribe any medication for the eyes without the need of a GP visit, helping provide a more streamlined community service.
Lynn, having previously worked in the city centres of Glasgow and Edinburgh, has gained a wealth of experience in contact lenses, customer care and management of ocular conditions. In 2005 Lynn settled with her family in Millport and is enjoying working in the local community.
Lynn recognised a growing need in the community for eyecare at home and has been providing this service for many years.
Lynn enjoys a very active social life and if she is not swimming in the Clyde you can spot her performing in the local choir.
Rachael Merrilees
Practice Manager
Trainee Dispensing Optician
Rachael started her optics career in 2014 working alongside Anne and Lynn in the local community.
In 2021 Rachael started her dispensing optics qualification attending the specialist optics college in Kent. Rachael works full-time whilst studying and attending block release.
Rachael is the Practice Manager, running the practice efficiently having gained previous experience in this role.
